Well that's discouraging, though probably true. Activates thoughts like "why even bother then, I'll just give it all up and hide away forever; I can't impress people". What would be the alternatives? Lying? Not posting at all? Sharing nothing but the positives to give a false impression of being capable of things I'm not? I suppose I'd rather people supported me knowing what they were getting themselves into rather than 'tricking' them by presenting myself in a way that's not accurate. But I know that's not what other people do, and is one of many symptoms of me being a poor fit in this world.
